On the first hills of Passignano sul Trasimeno, with a direct view of the lake, accessible via a long tree-lined avenue of 3 km of monumental cypresses (the second longest cypress avenue after Bolgheri), lies the centuries-old olive grove of Il Pischiello, owned by the Conti Gigli Cervi family, home to over 900 ancient trees, predominantly of the Dolce Agogia cultivar, the quintessential variety of Lake Trasimeno.
Created by the will of Marquis Uguccione Bourbon del Monte in the 17th century, the olive grove has maintained its original structure intact, with regularly spaced trees and wide ventilation corridors that have ensured its survival and allowed the development of remarkable soil biodiversity.
On the estate, the centuries-old olive trees are the Family’s most ancient voice. Their roots run deep alongside those who, generation after generation, have safeguarded this land. Every gnarled trunk tells of labor, of seasons, and of light. Here, the olive tree is not a crop, but a living heritage: a symbol of the unbreakable bond between the Family’s history and the very soul of the landscape.
